I’ll introduce you to our boat. Her name is Resolute. She is a finicky girl with a young heart and a strong weathered body. She was born in Portland, Oregon in 1975, 36 feet long, 13,500 pounds. She is a Cascade Yacht who has spent the last nine years circumnavigating the globe. As our yacht broker, Joe Lecato with Rubicon Yachts so eloquently put it, she’s proven.
Resolute has a few unique traits from other Cascade 36s. The largest of these is that she has an aft cabin and hard dodger. This means we feel very secure in heavy weather. She also had her rudder moved 1 foot aft and a partial skeg added to protect her spade rudder. The bowsprit seen in the stock images was also removed and her mast has been placed a couple inches forward on the deck. She is a cutter rig and prefers to be sailed as such.
