It has begun,
I know it sounds sort of ominous to talk about simple events like starting a web blog and a website with statements like that, but I can’t help it, it feels like a big deal. The last few weeks have been full of learning about new things. I have never created a website in my life and yet I found myself quite happy doing it. Although it may have some glitches here and there and it is nowhere near what I would like the final product to be, I am very happy with what I was able to accomplish with a little help from google searches
To let you all know who I am and why I am starting this blog I will let you in on a little of my life’s story. Don’t worry it will be brief. I was born and raised in Alaska, with some small pit stops in California and Australia along the way, but have been out of the state in Montana and Utah for the last six years. Over those six years I have received my bachelors degree in Earth Science (Geology), worked as a framing carpenter, managed a bike shop and of course fell in love. Along the way I was able to do a lot of very good backcountry skiing, rock climbing, biking, and other wonderful adventure having as well. Recently I have moved back to Fairbanks, AK with my new wife Meagan and dogs. We have purchased as small cabin and are trying to make ourselves comfortable in our new life.
Skipping to the point of this post. Now that I am back in Alaska my goal is to do what I have always wanted to do. No it is not to become a full time blogger. Sorry to disappoint. I have always hoped that some day I could sustain a way of life that would allow me to focus on my passions: photography and travel while perhaps leading to a modest income. This blog’s intent is to be a guide and an insight in to my challenges and triumphs as I try to make this goal a reality. Lets see how it turns out…
